The Love which Dies to Save and Lives to BIess (Poem)

There is no greater love than that which dies
And gives its own life for another’s sake,
Puts by its all, and even death defies,
That for a friend it happiness may make.
There is no greater love; e’en to the grave
’Twill fearless go,—the Love that dies to save.

There is no greater love than that which lives
To make an Eden of life's little space,
Which sacrifices all, and ever gives
A joy to everything in every place.
Greater than Justice, Faith, or Righteousness,
"The Love that Dies to Save, and Lives to Bless."
