Winter

Some day, some day
Spring will come again;
Some day, some day
Light will gild the plain,
And the meadows starred with flowers
Will refresh these hearts of ours
Now so dreary
And so weary
Of the winter's lengthened reign.

Some day, some day
Gladness will return;
Some day, some day
Hearts which freeze and burn
With the passion of unrest,
Will confess that God does best,
Who by sorrow
Brings a morrow
Filled with all for which we yearn.
