Charity (Poem)

Judge not with rash or cruel thought
The one who falleth by the way;
Guard thou thy tongue, stretch forth thy hand,
And help his downward course to stay.

We see the sin, we do not see
The travail of the soul that fell,
The racking pain of questioned right,
The darkened hour that tolled its knell.

Judge not, but look within thyself,
And fill thy heart with purity,
That in thy mind may live and grow
The word, "In all things Charity."

Not only should we pluck roses, we should also strew them in the paths of others.
—Witschel
