Counsel (Poem)

Look not on thine offences past,
But rather on good deeds to do;
Brood not on "evil"—rather cast
Thine eye on what is pure and true.

Dwell only on the noblest things—
On whatsoe'er will raise thee higher;
Mount o'er the low on spirit wings,
And unto thine Ideal aspire.
